If you’re looking for a private and peaceful getaway nestled among the rolling hills, welcome to Johanna Meadows Cottage. (Sorry NO PETS) Guests can relax and enjoy the country life away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The property is ideally located, giving you access to many attractions such as Johanna beach, Otway Fly, Maits Rest, Melba Gully, 12 Apostles, Otway Lighthouse, Castle Cove, Triplet Falls, Apollo Bay to name a few.

The space

Overlooking the rolling hills and meadows of Johanna and the natural forest on the property, our cottage is tucked into the sloping landscape. A modern, well-appointed home that sleeps up to 4.

Bedroom 1 has a Queen size bed. Bedroom 2 has 2 long single beds. All linen and bath towels are provided for your stay.

You can hear the sounds of the ocean just a short distance away at Johanna Beach. Take a stroll along the sandy shores and watch the stunning sunset over the water.

If surfing is your thing you can’t beat Johanna Beach, or you might like to drop in a line and catch a fish or explore the rock pools. For those who like a slower pace, you can laze away on the day bed as the morning sun warms you, or sit in the peaceful outlook of the meadows and rolling hills.

This is Otways forest life — take a short stroll along the tracks through the majestic tall timbers. At the end of the day, relax in the serenity and enjoy the peace. Play some board games, or curl up by the fire with a good book.

Please note

  • Minimum 2 night stay.
  • Our property is NOT suitable for pets.
  • Slight steep driveway and 3 steps to the front door — consider mobility needs.
  • Arriving at night: please bring a torch (it’s quite dark — rural/coastal area).
  • Mobile reception may be limited (Telstra may be patchy; others may have minimal reception).
  • No EV charging station on the property (nearest is in Apollo Bay).

Guest access

You’ll have full access to the cottage and grounds. The only exception is the fenced orchard and berry house, and underhouse storage/garage areas.

Other things to note

  • Only guests stated upon booking may stay at the property (no additional guests).
  • Johanna is beautifully remote — basic provisions and takeaways are available in Lavers Hill.
  • We recommend stocking up in Apollo Bay or Colac (Coles/Woolies/ALDI + petrol).
